SEO has a reputation for being slow and technical. Some of it is. But for most small businesses, a handful of simple fixes brings visible results within weeks. Here are the seven we start with for every new client.
1. Claim and complete your Google Business Profile
For anything local, such as a restaurant in Marrakech, a dentist in Rabat or a gym in Tangier, your Google Business Profile often brings more calls than your website. Fill in every field: categories, opening hours, services, photos and a real description. Post an update every week.
2. Ask every happy customer for a review
Reviews influence both your ranking on Google Maps and the decision of the person reading them. Send a short WhatsApp message with your direct review link right after a good experience. Reply to every review, including the negative ones.
3. Write a unique title for every page
Your page title is the blue link people click in Google. “Home” or your brand name alone wastes it. Use the format Main service + City | Brand, for example “Wedding Photographer in Casablanca | Studio Nour”.
4. Speak your customers’ language, literally
Many Moroccan customers search in French, others in Arabic, and some in Darija written in Latin letters. Look at how your customers actually type their questions and create pages in the languages they use. If your site has several languages, set up proper language tags so Google shows the right version.
5. Make your site fast on mobile
Run your homepage through Google PageSpeed Insights. The most common fixes are compressing images, using a caching plugin and removing heavy sliders or unused plugins.
6. Create one page per service
A single “Services” page listing everything can’t rank for anything specific. Give each main service its own page with a clear title, real details, prices or price ranges, photos and frequently asked questions.
7. Link your pages together
Internal links help Google understand which pages matter most. From your blog articles, link to the related service page. From each service page, link to your contact page.
- Day 1: Google Business Profile and review link
- Day 2: page titles and meta descriptions
- Day 3: speed fixes
- Week 2: one page per service, then internal links
